FUTURAMA°LAB The Art of Ecological Transformations ![]()
SOTTOMARINO FEDERICA FELLINI • Intervention • Venezia • Opening Biennale Arte 2022 |
Artists acquireing the skills needed to test supposedly utopian life models, utilise alternative resources and find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable problems. This pioneering role is increasingly being recognised and used by science - the keyword here is ‘artistic research’. Artistic endeavour therefore plays an important role in processes to change entrenched systems. These processes, initiated by artists, also have a positive influence on the quality of education in our society. CONTENT & TASK OF THE FUTURAMA°LAB Our focus is on productions, practice and the support of involved artists. Works and working methods of the FUTURAMA°LAB must have two characteristics: • Ecologically or socially relevant content. • Best possible sustainable conditions. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
We promote, develop, and communicate artistic creation with a focus on sustainability and ecological change. The °LAB works globally with and for art institutions, foundations, universities, cultural organizations, philanthropists and businesses.

REDEFINE LUXURY This shared conviction has led us to a point where we understand art productions as a method of rethinking and redesigning our basic needs and concepts such as ‘luxury’, ‘prosperity’ and the organisation of ‘everyday processes’. Reduction, re-use and post-growth in a contemporary choreography of our everyday life play a central role in these works. LESS IS MORE WHEN LESS IS BETTER With protagonists from the fields of psychology, technology, business, education and science, the FUTURAMA°LAB produces artistic works in the context of long-term ecological approaches that results, in a best case scenario, in fundamental reorientations of our way of life. ![]() |
The artist, supporters and partners of the FUTURAMA°LAB are convinced that art - with its abstract, irrational and unconventional methods - is a key player in ecological change.
