FUTURAMA°LAB The Art of Ecological Transformations ![]()

Artists acquireing the skills needed to test supposedly utopian life models, utilise alternative resources and find creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable problems. This pioneering role is increasingly being recognised and used by science - the keyword here is ‘artistic research’. Artistic endeavour therefore plays an important role in processes to change entrenched systems. These processes, initiated by artists, also have a positive influence on the quality of education in our society. CONTENT & TASK OF THE FUTURAMA°LAB Our focus is on productions, practice and the support of involved artists. Works and working methods of the FUTURAMA°LAB must have two characteristics: • Ecologically or socially relevant content. • Best possible sustainable conditions. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
We promote, develop, and communicate artistic creation with a focus on sustainability and ecological change. The °LAB works globally with and for art institutions, foundations, universities, cultural organizations, philanthropists and businesses.

The team, supporters, and partners of the FUTURAMA°LAB are convinced that the power of art – with its abstract, irrational, and unconventional methods – plays a key roll in the ecological transformation. REDEFINE LUXURY This shared challenge has brought us to a point, where we understand artistic experiments as a method to rethink and redesign central concepts such as "luxury," "prosperity," and the structuring of "everyday processes". Reduction, reuse, and post-growth form the core of these works, embedded in a contemporary choreography of our daily routines. LESS IS MORE WHEN LESS IS BETTER Together with protagonists from psychology, technology, economics, education, and natural sciences, FUTURAMA°LAB produces artistic works within the context of long-term ecological approaches, that aim to a fundamental reorientation of our way of life. ![]() |
